Ferry Channel in Padangbai is one of those unexpected gems.

Ferry Channel – A Turtle Paradise in Padangbai

Ferry Channel – Massive sea turtles. Resting stingrays. A dive site full of surprises—just outside the ferry lane.

Not all amazing dive sites come with dramatic names or remote access. Some are hiding in plain sight—right where the land meets the sea. Ferry Channel in Padangbai is one of those unexpected gems. Known for huge resident sea turtles and stingrays resting in the sand, this site offers calm diving with exciting encounters.

At Zero Gravity Diving Bali, this is one of our favorite places to bring divers who love peaceful dives with rich marine life—and plenty of turtles.

Effortless Journey from Sanur to the Dive Site

The adventure begins with a comfortable ride in our private minivan from Sanur to Padangbai—about an hour through Bali’s scenic southeast coast. Once we reach the shore, you’ll board our own traditional Jukung boat, a stable and authentic Indonesian outrigger.

Everything is handled by our crew—no waiting, no transfers—just a smooth trip directly to the dive site.

The Dive Site – A Peaceful World Just Outside the Ferry Lane

The Ferry Channel dive takes place just outside the active ferry lane, in a safe and calm underwater zone marked by coral patches and sand beds.

It’s close enough to be exciting, but well away from boat traffic—so divers can focus fully on the marine life without any worry.

What You’ll See Underwater

Ferry Channel is full of surprises. It’s a shallow to mid-depth dive, perfect for easy exploration with long bottom times.

Here’s what we often see:
🐢 Massive Green Sea Turtles – Some of the biggest turtles in Bali call this site home. It’s not unusual to see more than a dozen during one dive. They rest, glide, and interact naturally—offering unforgettable moments.
🌊 Stingrays – Look closely at the sand beds and coral edges to spot blue-spotted and marble rays resting or cruising by.
🐠 Reef Life and Macro Creatures – You’ll also find butterflyfish, trevallies, morays, and the occasional nudibranch hiding among the coral patches.
